Special Honor and Remembrance – True Hero, Col Fred Cherry (1928-2016)

Fred Cherry

Colonel Fred V. Cherry USAF (Ret)

This morning, we remember Colonel Fred V. Cherry who flew west this morning, February 16, 2016. Colonel Cherry was a Prisoner of War in North Vietnam from October 1965 to February 1973, and was awarded the Air Force Cross for his heroism as a POW.

He was a great friend, a true hero, and an inspiration to us all. For gallantry in resisting the enemy in the POW camps, he was awarded the Air Force Cross, second only to the Congressional Medal of Honor. We will miss him.

Thank you joining me in honoring his memory –
